Create NFC Business Cards with VCard Links

Transform any NFC card into a digital business card. Use ShortyHub to create a custom VCard link, sign up for free, and write your unique URL to any NFC tag using the NFC Tools app. Share your contact details instantly with a single tap.

Phase 1: Create Your Digital VCard on ShortyHub

  1. Register & Access: Log in to your ShortyHub.com account. On the side menu, navigate to VCard Links.
  2. Initialize the Link: Click the blue + VCard Link button. A popup will appear, enter your desired custom alias to create your unique URL (e.g., shortyhub.com/yourname). Click Create VCard Link.
  3. Enter Your Professional Details: Fill in the primary information fields, including your First Name, Last Name, Email, and Job Title.
  4. Add Your Phone Numbers:
  5. Scroll to the bottom and click the Phone Numbers button.
  6. Click + Create.
  7. Enter your Phone Number.
  8. Note on Labels: You can add a custom label (like "Work" or "Personal"), but please note that custom labels do not work on Android devices. Leave the label field empty to use the default system label for maximum compatibility.
  9. You can repeat this process to add multiple numbers.
  10. Save & Copy: Click Update at the bottom of the page. Once you see the "Successfully updated" message, go to the top of the page and click the Copy button to grab your unique ShortyHub link.


Phase 2: Program Your NFC Card

To move your digital profile onto a physical card, you will need the NFC Tools app, available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  1. Prepare the Record: Open the NFC Tools app and tap the Write tab.
  2. Add Your Link: Tap Add a record, then select URL / URI. Paste your ShortyHub link into the field and tap the Checkmark (OK) button in the top right corner.
  3. Write to Card: Tap the Write button. A prompt will appear telling you to approach the NFC tag.
  4. Finalize: Hold your NFC card close to the back of your phone (near the top for iPhone, usually in the center for Android). The app will confirm once the data is written successfully.


How It Works

Your card is now ready! When someone taps your card with their smartphone:

  1. A notification will appear with your ShortyHub URL.
  2. Once they tap the link, your digital VCard opens instantly.
  3. They can save your contact details, including your email and multiple phone numbers, directly to their phone's address book.
